True Patriot Flag Company discusses their “Don’t Tread on Me” flag.

Don’t Tread on Me is a historical statement and flag for the United States of America. The phrase was written under the image of a rattle snake and emblazoned on a yellow flag. This is known as the Gadsden flag and falls within the historical flags of America.

What Does It Mean?

The symbolism is a statement that was intended to warn people to not step on or take advantage of America.  If you do, we will strike!

The Gadsden flag was created by Christopher Gadsden who was an American statesman and general.

Did you know that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime?  Most believe that early detection is the key to surviving it.  That is how breast cancer awareness got its start.  True Patriot Flag Company discusses the definition and reasoning behind breast cancer awareness and the pink ribbon symbol.

National Breast Cancer Awareness (NBCAM) month was started in 1985 by the American Cancer Society.  The aim of the NBCAM from the start has been to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer.

In 1995, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation was created and they adopted the pink ribbon as their symbol.  The pink ribbon and all things pink have become the international symbol of support for cancer victims and education alike.  It is seen throughout the year now, not just in October. 

The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement.  It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer.

Breast cancer organizations use the pink ribbon to associate themselves with breast cancer, to promote breast cancer awareness, and to support fundraising.

You have all see it…a thin blue line on signs, clothes, etc.  Some might know is has something to do with Police…but some might not even know that!  True Patriot Flag Company discusses the definition and reasoning behind the “Thin Blue Line.”

It is believed to have originated back in the 60’s as a representation of the cultural brotherhood of policing.   A time when police were struggling to relate to the population…and that same population looked at them as a negative, manipulative organization.

Most recently it has been recognized as a symbol representing the fact that police officers stand as a thin line that protects society from evil and chaos.

Civilians who use it or show the symbol some way are saying they support the police force and understand their importance in society.  It is a sign of respect.

The most obvious part is the color.  Local Police uniforms have consistently been blue throughout the modern history of policing.  What better color to use, than the one we all associate with our local police force?
